I am a fan of discreet, pretty vibrators.

When they’re this pretty, not only do I want to play with them, but I want to display them as works of art. It’s amazing how slick and sexy vibrators can be designed to look these days. So when the folks at Love Fun Play contacted me about reviewing this sexy little item, I couldn’t resist.

If you’re looking for a vibrator that is discreet in appearance, this one is it. Even sitting out of its storage box and bag, it looks more like a slick shaver than a vibrator. They have excelled on having an attractive and discreet design. I chose the color black, I was just drawn to it more than the white one.

Love Fun Play touts the Diva as being a quiet vibrator.

On the lowest intensity settings it is rather quiet, however, the higher the intensity the louder the vibrator gets. It’s not a loud vibrator, but it’s not a totally quiet one either. The sound is more of a low whir; plus the batteries are tightly stored in their compartment so there is no rattling battery sound which can make a vibrator sound not only loud, but annoying. All in all, holding it up against the body muffles the sound a bit and having on any kind of music or TV or other noise will cover up the sound of the vibrator, if you so desire.

As far as performance…

The Diva offers a range of continuous vibration from extremely low to high and 7 other vibrational styles:

Pulse
Fast Pulse
Very Fast Pulse
Escalate
Slow/Long Increasing Escalate
4 Pulses then Escalate
The last one mixes it all together, creating what felt like a song that’s unique to the Diva. It offers a lot of different sensations that are smoothly put together.

I enjoyed the last style, however, I need my continuous vibrations to get off, so I had to switch it back to continuous vibrations. Unfortunately, in the few times I got to use the Diva before writing this review, it didn’t quite bring me to orgasm. I had to grab my Hitachi Magic Wand to bring myself over the orgasmic cliff I was hanging on. So I would recommend this vibrator to those ladies that are looking for something that’s not too powerful.

The Diva is fairly easy to operate…

once you read through the instructions. To turn it on, you press and hold the “+” button and you’ve got continuous vibrations. Each separate press of the “+” button will bring you to a higher intensity of continuous vibration. If, at any time, you want to get to the other styles, you have to press and hold the “+” button for 2 seconds. Then you’ll get the first style and each separate press of the “+” button will bring you to a different style. Once you get to the last style, you’ll be brought  back to the first style of Pulse and can go through the styles again.

If, at any time, you want to go back to continuous vibrations press and hold the “-“ button for 2 seconds and you’re back at continuous vibrations. I love that you can easily get back to those continuous vibrations, since they are ultimately what will bring me to orgasm.  So all in all, once you understand how the buttons work, it’s fairly easy to operate.  I just found that you do have to press on the buttons. I lightly pressed a couple of times and it didn’t change the intensity or the style and when I pressed harder, it worked.

The curve of the Diva is interesting.

At first I thought it would be too extreme. After playing with it a bit, I learned that it’s not a bad thing. When holding the end opposite the batteries on my clit, the vibrator is comfortable to hold on to and I was able to get to the buttons fairly easily.

However, if I moved it down to vibrate against my vaginal lips and opening, the curved part was above my clit and didn’t directly stimulate my clit while I was stimulating the other areas. That can be a good thing because you can more direct where you’re receiving vibrations. If I moved it further to my taint and ass, then the battery side of the vibrator vibed against my clit and no part of the vibrator vibrated against my vaginal lips or hole.  Since our girly parts are so close down there, whether you hold the vibe against a certain part or not, it all gets vibrated, just indirectly. It was an interesting experience, not overly terrific, but not bad either.

As for partner sex

The Chippendales Diva worked well. Hubby and I used it in missionary, doggy and rear entry in kneeling position and it didn’t get in the way of our bodies when I was holding it against my clit. He also used it while going down on me and it worked well for that too, making it a good vibe for partner sex.

It Locks

The Diva has a locking feature so you don’t accidentally turn it on when storing it or traveling with it. Just hold down both the “+” and “-“ buttons until the LED light comes and goes off. To unlock, do the same. Simple, simple!

Swinger – Threesome Friendly

Since Hubby and I have lots of lady playmates, we are always on the lookout for non-porous toys that can be shared and easily cleaned and disinfected. The Diva is made of ABS which is a non-porous material, so it can be shared with a lady friend and easily cleaned with mild soap and a damp washcloth. ABS is also phthalate-free to it’s safe to use in and on your body.

Not Waterproof

It’s not a waterproof toy, so you can’t use it in the tub, shower or hot tub, but the battery compartment closes up enough to make it splash proof, meaning if you’re a squirter or accidentally splash some water on it while cleaning it, it won’t break the toy. However, the instructions say to be careful not to get water in the battery compartment or in the buttons.

Power Supply

The Diva takes 3 AAA batteries that are not included, but real easy to obtain. At first I couldn’t figure out how to put the batteries in. I’m notorious for being too rough with things and breaking them and the instruction booklet just shows you where the battery compartment is, but doesn’t tell you to pull the bottom piece off; so that took a bit of figuring out. Now that I’ve pulled that part off once, it seems to come off easier. When you put new batteries in, make sure the little ribbon lies across the bottom so that you’re putting the batteries on top of the ribbon. That way, when it’s time to change the batteries, you just pull the ribbon and the batteries pop out. If not, they’re difficult to remove.

The Diva is supposed to have a low battery indicator light. The LED will flash when the batteries are low. I’ve used the Diva a few times now and I’m still not seeing the light so the batteries are still good after a few uses.

Some Final Thoughts

The folks at Love Play Fun have created a good product. It’s pretty, discreet appearance makes it perfect for those new to toys that want something discreet. It’s range of vibrations is also good for newbies and those that do not desire incredibly strong vibrations. It’s a shame it didn’t get me off, I really wanted it to. Once you read through the instructions and give it practice run, it’s easy to operate in the throws of passion. It doesn’t get in the way of partner sex, intercourse or oral. It comes with not only a box to store it in, but a satiny pouch too, so you’ve got options there. It’s locking feature is very practical if you plan to take your Diva on the go. Even just to store it, it’s good to lock it so it doesn’t accidentally turn on and waste the batteries. It uses 3 AAA batteries that are easy and cheap to obtain in bulk if you find this is your go-to vibrator. My only issue with the Diva is the price. At the time of writing, the Diva is $89.00 US and while I feel this is a good vibrator, I also feel it’s more of a newbie, entrance vibrator and that price tag may be a little more than newbies are willing to pay.
