Sponge Hidden Vibrator

sponge vibrator

Review by Ann Andriani

The Hype

A discreet vibrator that you can use in the most private of places...the shower or bath!

How's it supposed to be used Well, even if you mistake it for an actual sponge, it'll do just fine, but make sure you twist that switch or you'll be missing the best part.

What I liked

I love the fact that this vibrator can be used in the bath and/or shower. For most women, the only place they can get some peace and quiet is the bath or shower.

It really is an actual sponge with a vibrator inside, so you can literally hang it from your shower head and anyone that uses the shower won't know the difference, unless of course they turn it on. So it's totally discreet! The sponge vibrator does pack some serious power. Once I turned it on and held it on my vulva, it sent wonderfully powerful vibrations all over my gentals, since it has a large surface area. Normally a large surface area subdues the vibrations, but I didn't find that to be a problem at all.

It's so much fun to use with a partner. Use it to wash each other and massage one another first before you get too close to the genitals. When I used it with my boyfriend in the shower, he sat on the side of the tub and washed me with it and then I straddled his leg as he held it against my vulva and I gyrated against it until I had a very pleasurable orgasm.

It's super easy to clean, just soap it up, rinse it off and hang it to dry by it's nylon cord. So, handy!

Wow, Big Surprise! When I first turned on this vibrator, it was really loud. I was amazed at how loud it was, but then I tested it and learned two things. When the sponge gets wet, it tends to muffle the sound of the vibrator. Also, when I turned my shower on, the water is kind of loud in the shower, so that also camouflages the sound. The sound is muffled even further when you press it against your body too.

What I didn't Like

If I want to take a peaceful bath, in a quiet bathroom and be real discreet about using my vibrator, this is not the really the one to use. Without the shower turned on or music playing at a decent volume, whoever stands at the door may hear the vibrator buzzing. So it looks discreet but does not sound discreet if you don't have other noise happening in the room.

Since it's a sponge, it's not insertable, but hey, that's what fingers are for. So if you want a waterproof toy that you can totally penetrate yourself with, this is not the one. External use only ladies.

I need some serious power from a vibrator, so I wasn't bothered by the fact that this one did not have variable speed control. It's just on/off , but I do realize that some women need to or like to control and vary the speed of vibrations.

Favorite Ways to Use

Now I know you're probably thinking there's not too many ways to use this vibrator besides holding it on your vulva, but in my experience I have also found that if I move that puppy back a little and let it vibrate against my anus, I'm in heaven. There's so many nerve endings back there that should recieve that much deserved attention. Then I got to thinking and said this is a great toy for women that want to experiment with anal vibrations but are afraid of the "dirty factor." You're playing in the shower and the vibrator is a sponge, so how much cleaner can you be when exploring. So ladies, don't be afraid to slide that jimmy jammy back and please that bottom of yours.

Also, if you don't mind wiping up some water on the floor when your playtime is over, wet the sponge, ring it out and place it on the side of the tub, the side opposite the wall, then straddle that bad boy and gyrate until your heart's content. Your floor will get a little wet, but it's worth every orgasmic moment.

Overall Thoughts

I was very excited when I came across the sponge vibrator. I thought it was extremely clever and a great buy for all those women who want a discreet vibrator and it's water friendly, making it safe and fun to use in the shower or bath. Yes, I was orginally turned off by the noise and you may be too if you turn it on before getting it wet, so to avoid that, make sure you get it good and wet and then turn it on. And if you want to take a bath with it, just take a radio or cd player in the bathroom with you and that will cover up the sound. All in all, my experience with it was successful. It provided the powerful vibrations that I needed to get off in the privacy of my own shower. And when I used it with my boyfriend and even when we added our girlfriend to the mix, the vibrating sponge proved to be a fun addition to shower play. It cleans everyone up and gets everyone off!

I'd have to say that right now, the sponge vibrator is loosing it's spotlight because of the cute Rubber Ducky Vibrator that's on the market. I didn't give the Rubber Ducky a full test drive yet, but right off the bat, I can say that although it's quieter than the sponge vibrator, it's not as strong at all. Also putting the batteries into the Rubber Ducky is somewhat of a complicated task as well. So my goal here is to bring the sponge vibrator back into the spotlight because at under $25.00, you get a quality toy that's waterproof, discreet, powerful, easy to use and easy to clean. It also makes a great gift for friends and family!
