What's the Hype

Initial Thoughts

I was contacted by the folks at the Woodpeckers Roost, to do a review of one of their dildos. I didn't quite know what to expect, even though I perused the site before my wooden dildo arrived. When I got it, I was initally surprised by the size. 10 1/2" looks rather long, so it was a bit intimidating. As I showed all my friends, because that's what I do when my new toys arrive, they all giggled and said it looked the leg of wooden stool, especially with it's wooden base. Speaking of wooden base, because of it's thickness, I was also a little intimidated by it as well. At first, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to take all that in. However, as it got closer to taking the test drive, I was certain that if I got excited enough, I'd have no problems plowing myself with that end. As far as appearance, I did think that it was a work of art. I could tell right away that this was handcrafted with lots of love and passion. As I stroked the dildo with my unlubed hand, I was absolutely amazed at how uber soft it was. All my friends kept saying I was probably going to get a splinter, but I could tell right away, that I was totally safe, it felt divine.

How's It Supposed to Be Used

It does look like you should be replacing that broken wooden stool leg with this, but you really do fuck yourself with it!

What I Liked

It's very, very smooth for penetration. It didn't seem like it's all that porous because a tiny bit of lube went a very long way...and I'm not someone that produces a lot of natural lube, so that was definitely a plus. Although it was just sitting out on my nightstand before playtime, it wasn't really all that cold upon initial insertion like all my other toys. Most of the other materials are extremely cold and then take some time to warm up. It was almost as if this toy has it's own inner heat and then it really warmed up to my body temperature quickly....very sweet!

The bulb tip was a lot of fun in the beginning. It usually takes a little bit of teasing to get me aroused enough for full penetration. The bulb tip was a great way to get me started. I kept slowly inserting that bulb and pulling it out. Once I was ready for full insertion, amazingly enough I was able to take in just about the entire dildo, in which I was then able to feel the ribbed part of the shaft right at the entrance of my sweet hole. It was lovely!!!

Unfortunately, during my first go 'round with it, I wasn't able to penetrate myself with the thick base end. I started to insert it and got so fuckin' excited that I immediately reached orgasm. So, I had to wait until the next time.

I have found that this is a great dildo to use with a partner that may not be interested in using a phallic looking dildo, since it looks nothing like a penis and isn't even made out the material that you're used to sex toys being made out of. Another plus for the Jildo!

What I Didn't Like

I couldn't use it and reach orgasm on my own, I needed to add a vibrator to the mix. It just wasn't thick enough overall, but if you look at my requirements, I like really thick dildos, but the tapered design of this dildo gives you a variety of thicknesses to play with. If you don't want a lot of thickness, just use the tip end of the dildo. If you feel you need more thickness, start working towards using the other end. As far as weight, I've started to become a fan of things that are weighty, like glass dildos. It adds more to the feeling of fulfillment I desire and I found that the wood for this particular dildo wasn't very heavy. It wasn't light as a feather or light as a cheap plastic dildo, but I felt if it was a little weightier, it would have been even better.

Cool Part

The thick base end allows you stand the dildo up on it's own. So, I was able to stand the jildo up on the floor, squat over it, hold on to it with one hand so it wouldn't fall over and ride it. That was really awesome!!!! Not only was it fun for me, but very hot for my boyfriend to watch. Yay!

Amazing Bit

On the second go'round with the Hart Jildo, I didn't introduce the vibrator right away. I teased myself with the bulb tip just like before and when I was ready penetrated myself deeper and deeper with it and when I really started to get hot, I turned that sucker over and was able to get that thick base Jildo end in! I don't think I have words to describe how hot that was! After using the other end that just wasn't cutting it after awhile, the base end was just what I needed to bring me over the edge. Although I had to use it like the bulb tip, only penetrating myself with that part because the rest of it got very thin.

Cleaning Factor

It's very easy to clean, just use a little bit of soap and warm water. Pat dry with a towel and leave out to totally air dry over night. I found the finish on the wood to be very strong, I've used it and cleaned it several times now, and the water does not penetrate into the wood at all.

What's It All Add Up To

These dildos are truely a work of art! You can display this item on your night stand or desk and no one will be the wiser, so if you're looking for something discreet, the Jildo is definitely the way to go. As far as amount of times I use it, I find I grab it when I'm looking for something a little different. At the time of this review, the Jildo's are being sold for about $149.00 plus shipping and handling. I know you're thinking...Wow, that much for a dildo? But I honestly believe that these dildos are worth every penny for all the reasons stated above. This dildo will last you a long time, unlike rubber, silicone and jelly dildos that will start to disintegrate and stink after awhile. The Jildo will give you pleasure sexually and aesthetically for years to come.

Size: About 10 1/2" long, flared base on bottom measures 6" around and approx. 1 1/2" diagonally.

Thickness: The bulb tip at the top is tapered and at its widest part is about as wide as a U.S. Half Dollar.
